How Moneto works.

Moneto is a token launchpad on Solana where every coin is priced in ETH. It runs ahead of GIWA mainnet, with a freeze and snapshot built so coins can be carried to GIWA mainnet once it is officially live. This page is the plain description of the mechanics, the numbers and what is and is not built.

Overview

Every coin on Moneto is created, bought, sold and pooled in ETH. The ETH is ETH (Portal), ether bridged to Solana by Wormhole. Coins are sold on a bonding curve until 800M of their 1B supply is sold; at that point the coin is minted and its liquidity moves into a pool built into the Moneto program, locked forever.

The economics follow Notus, the open-source launchpad on Base, rebuilt for Solana. Three things differ because of Solana, and they are called out below.

How a coin works

  1. Strike. One transaction creates the coin, its curve and its metadata: name, ticker, image, description, links. 1B supply, fixed. There is no mint authority and no freeze authority, so nobody can mint more or freeze it. An optional first strike makes the striker the first holder, disclosed on the coin page.
  2. The curve. 800M coins are sold on a bonding curve. The price rises with every buy and falls with every sell. Coins can be transferred before they are minted.
  3. Minted. At 800M sold, 7.04 ETH has been raised. The coin is minted: the ETH raised and the 200M reserved coins move into a pool in the Moneto program, locked forever, at exactly the curve's closing price, about 37 ETH of market cap. The roughly 9.5M coins left over are burned. The coin trades on without a ceiling and without a key.
Difference from Notus. Notus locks transfers until graduation. On Solana that needs a freeze authority, which traders' scanners flag as a red flag, so Moneto coins can be transferred before they are minted.

The curve

A constant-product curve with virtual reserves. The program holds a virtual ETH reserve and a virtual coin reserve whose product is constant; each buy adds ETH and removes coins, so the price rises; each sell does the reverse. The same formula for every coin, checkable on-chain.

PointSoldPriceMarket cap
Open00.0021 ETH per 1M≈ 2.1 ETH
Halfway400M0.0055 ETH per 1M≈ 5.5 ETH
The mint800M0.0370 ETH per 1M≈ 37 ETH

Market cap here is the price times the full 1B supply, stated in ETH. In the app, values show in dollars first with the ETH figure beneath.

Minting and the pool

When the 800M on the curve are sold, curve trading closes and the coin is minted in the same transaction. The 7.04 ETH raised and the 200M reserved coins seed a pool at the curve's closing price, and the roughly 9.5M coins left over are burned. The pool is part of the Moneto program and its liquidity is locked by design; there is no key that can withdraw it.

Difference from Notus. Minted coins trade in a pool built into the Moneto program, not on an external DEX. Jupiter does not route to these pools until Moneto applies after launch, so until then minted coins trade on the Moneto site.

Fees and the split

The Mint takes 0.5% of every buy and every sell, on the curve and in the pool. There is no creation fee; striking a coin costs the network fee and, if chosen, the first strike.

At the strike, the striker may add a tax of up to 10% on buys and up to 10% on sells. It is fixed forever at the strike and shown on the coin page. The striker chooses how it is split between four shares:

ShareGoes to
CreatorThe striker.
CashbackHolders, in proportion to what they hold. See holder cashback.
BuybackAutomatic buybacks of the coin, which are burned.
LiquidityAdded to the coin's pool.

Nobody, including the Mint, can change a live coin's fees, curve, supply or pool.

Holder cashback

If a coin's split includes cashback, each holder's share is worked out by the Moneto indexer from trades and balances, and published on-chain every 10 minutes. Holders then claim it. The program caps claims at what the coin actually set aside, so a claim can never exceed the coin's cashback balance.

Difference from Notus. Cashback is computed off-chain by the indexer and published on-chain on a schedule, rather than accrued inside the token contract on every transfer.

Paying in SOL or ETH

Buys can be paid in ETH directly or in SOL. When paying in SOL, it is swapped to ETH through Jupiter in the same transaction; the coin only ever sees ETH. The Reserve page is where ETH comes in.

ETH on Solana

The ETH on Moneto is ETH (Portal): ether bridged to Solana by Wormhole and backed one-for-one by ETH locked on Ethereum. It is called "ETH" throughout the product. The mint address:

7vfCXTUXx5WJV5JADk17DUJ4ksgau7utNKj4b963voxs

The Portal mint has no freeze authority and about $20M of liquidity on Solana. Moneto does not issue or custody ETH; the ETH behind the Portal mint is locked in Wormhole's Ethereum contract.

Keys and the timelock

Admin key
The only admin key sits behind a 24-hour timelock. Every change is visible on-chain at least a day before it can run.
Live coins
Fees, curve, supply and pool of a live coin cannot be changed by anyone.
Mint authority
None. Supply is fixed at 1B.
Freeze authority
None. Coins cannot be frozen.
Pool liquidity
Locked by the program, permanently.
Your wallet
Never held. Moneto never asks for a seed phrase.

The road to GIWA

GIWA is the Ethereum L2 that Dunamu, Upbit's parent company, is building on the OP Stack. Its mainnet is not live, has no launch date and no mainnet chain ID; only the testnet exists. Moneto runs on Solana ahead of it. The migration is planned once GIWA mainnet is officially live. In order:

  1. The freeze. The admin announces a freeze on-chain, through the timelock, at least a day in advance. From the announcement, no new coins are struck. Trading stops at the freeze time; claims stay open.
  2. The migration build. The program is upgraded to the migration build and the coins' reserves are moved out.
  3. The snapshot. A snapshot records every coin and every holder's balance.
  4. The address link. Solana wallets have no EVM address, so holders link one on the migration page by signing a message. A signature only, never a deposit.
  5. The move. The coins are re-created with the same holders and the same price.
Not built yet: the GIWA-side step. It is a plan only; nothing is built for it, and no exchange there is decided because none has announced a GIWA launch. The freeze cycle, the migration build and the snapshot tool are built and tested on a local chain.
Moneto will never ask you to bridge or deposit anything for the move, and will not ask you to connect to any GIWA network before GIWA mainnet is officially live. Any “GIWA mainnet” bridge today is a scam.

The Ledger

The Ledger is a season-based record of what each wallet did on the pad, computed from the chain: strikes, buys, holds of minted coins, referrals. Season 1 opens with mainnet. Points are not a token.

Status and testing

Built

  • On-chain program: striking, trading, minting into the locked pool, buybacks, claims, the timelock, the freeze.
  • Indexer: tracks trades and holder cashback, runs the automatic buybacks, feeds the site.
  • Website: Explore, Strike, token pages, Profile, Reserve, the migration page, Ledger (not live), About.

Tested

  • All program tests pass on a local chain, including the full freeze cycle. After every step, each coin's vault holds exactly what it owes.
  • Cashback calculations are checked against what is published on-chain.
  • Every page of the site checked on desktop and phone.

Not yet

  • Trading with a real wallet in the browser, paying with SOL (mainnet only), and the server setup.
  • No outside audit. Nothing is deployed.

Questions

What does it cost to strike a coin?

The network fee and, if you choose one, your first strike. There is no creation fee. The Mint takes 0.5% of every buy and sell.

Can the team pause, edit or drain a coin?

No. Nobody can change a live coin's fees, curve, supply or pool, and there is no mint or freeze authority. Changes to the Mint itself go through a 24-hour timelock.

Where do minted coins trade?

In the coin's own pool inside the Moneto program, on the Moneto site. Jupiter routing is applied for after launch.

Is Moneto affiliated with GIWA, Upbit, Solana or Wormhole?

No. Moneto is an independent, open launchpad. It names them only as facts of the product.
